About
Kara recognizes the courage and strength of each client who seeks counseling. Operating from a client-centered approach and unconditional positive regard for all, she considers it an honor to co-create a therapeutic environment of trust and safety. Clients describe Kara's therapy style as calm, understanding, non-judgmental, and insightful, and through meeting with her, they feel heard and accepted. Kara works with children and adolescents, adults and families, who represent diverse abilities and backgrounds. She works with clients working through depression, anxiety and panic, trauma, grief and loss, addictions, ADHD, relationship and boundary issues, questioning identity and purpose, and life transitions. Kara uses mindfulness and self-compassion to transform barriers such as emotional overwhelm, guilt and shame. Examining self-care routines also serves to create a foundation of wellness.
